Breeder Referral (Find a Breeder)
To find a breeder in Virginia, Maryland, the District of Columbia, or Pennsylvania, you may contact the Potomac Cairn Terrier Club's breeder referral representatives or you can contact the breeders listed on this page. The breeder referral representatives are experienced in answering questions about all aspects of purchasing an adult dog or puppy. They can direct you to all the PCTC breeders who have puppies or adult dogs available. While some PCTC breeders prefer not to be listed on the breeder referral page, they can be reached through the following breeder referral representatives.
The breeders referred by the contacts above are members of the PCTC in good standing. The PCTC makes every practical effort to ensure that the PCTC breeders produce healthy, quality puppies. However, the PCTC does not endorse any particular breeder and is not responsible for any purchase agreement, guarantee, or understanding between breeders and buyers.
You should check references, visit potential breeders, and evaluate your options before you buy a puppy. You should do some research on the breed, including reading the articles available at the bottom of this page.
The CTCA's Health Related Concerns web page offers guidelines for prospective owners of Cairn puppies. It will provide you questions to ask regarding what health testing has been done on the puppy you are interested in and its mother and father. We encourage you to ask to see hard copy results of any testing or exams.
Complaints regarding PCTC breeders may be submitted in writing to the PCTC Secretary. The PCTC is interested in your opinion and will remove breeders from this list if cause exists.
